☆ The location of Tsubai
Tsubai Primary School is located in the center of the oldest town in Nara City , near Nara Park. In the neighborhood of the school , there are many shopping streets, banks , hotels and public institutions. From here, one can visit some ancient temples, including Todaiji-Temple , Kofukuji-Temple , Gangoji-Temple and so on.
As many of the inhabitants of the area are graduates of Tsubai Primary School, they care very much for it and are supportive of school education.
☆ The History of Tsubai Primary School
1872 June "TOKASHA"(the first name of Tsubai Primary School) was founded as the first school in Nara town.
toukasya 1877 Apr. The new school building of European style was built at Tsubai-cho. The name was changed "Tsubai Primary School.
1907 Nov. The new wooden school building was completed.
1910 Mar. The name was changed to "The Nara First Senior Primary School. "
1941 Apr. The name was changed to "Tsubai National School."
1947 Apr. The name was changed to "Tsubai Primary School."
1957 Oct. The new ferroconcrete school building was completed.
1962 Apr. The handicapped class was established.
Dec. The Imperial Prince Takamatsu-no-miya visited our school for the 90th anniversary ceremony.
1972 Nov. The handicapped class (hearing impaired) was established.
1988 Sep. The exchange of children's works and letters between Tsubai school and Ainslie Primary School ,Canberra , Australia , commenced.
1990 Sep. 42 children and teachers of Ainslie Primary School visited and studied with us for 12 days.
1992 Jul. The new gymnasium, including a swimming pool on the roof, was completed.
1992 Nov. The ceremony marking the 120th Anniversary was held.
1995 Aug. The principal , teachers and 27 children visited Ainslie Primary School.
1998 Sep. The principal , 4 teachers, 10 parents and 31 children of Ainslie Primary School visited us for 5 days. They reinforced the relationship and friendship between the schools.
2002 Apr. Due to the construction of new school buildings , a prefabricated building was build within the school playing grounds.
2004 Nov. The new buildings were all completed.
